May 19, 2020

Dear Dancers, Teachers, Parents and Families,

As the world crisis continues to develop, we hope this finds you happy, healthy and embracing the safety measures that appear to be the new normal for now.

With States beginning the process of reopening there are still many unknowns about when and if we will be able to gather in large numbers again soon. Our primary concern is the safety of our guests and staff and we thank you for patiently waiting to hear our plans for Summer 2020.

We miss dancing with you and are eager to see you again soon, however, as of today the state and federal guidelines have not been relaxed related to gatherings in large numbers. In the unlikely event they are relaxed in the near future, we do not feel it would be responsible for us to hold a large event so soon.

Because of the current impossibility of guaranteeing a safe convention environment, Tremaine Dance Conventions will NOT be able to host our live scheduled events as planned for Dallas, Orlando, or New York City this summer.  All hotel reservations that have been made within the Tremaine room block will be automatically canceled by the hotels and deposits made for room reservations within the Tremaine room block will be refunded.  If room reservations or deposits have been made outside of the Tremaine room block, you will have to contact the hotel directly to arrange for your cancellation.

Please note, we are still hopeful that Las Vegas could happen but feel it’s just too soon to make that decision. We will keep you posted.

We understand how hard you have been working and the disappointment this decision may bring especially to those of you who will be missing prom, graduation, recital and other important activities. We want to encourage you to keep training with your home studios in whatever manner you can so you are prepared for upcoming events.

With that in mind, we are thrilled to announce that we are preparing our first virtual event to replace the Summer 2020 events, including National Finals. It is our intention for this to take place in July and we will have more details for you very soon. This event will include classes with the faculty and special guests as well as performances, competition, scholarships, DOTY’s and more.

In addition to the virtual Summer event we are hopeful that as restrictions are relaxed later this season we will be able to schedule smaller pop-up events.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and support. We look forward to continuing to be a valuable part of your dance education.

Kind regards,

Tremaine Dance Conventions

Dear Teachers, Studio Owners, Parents and Dancers,

We look forward to a time when it is safe to travel and gather in large groups again and to that end we are optimistically preparing for our Summer Tour including National Finals in Orlando. We will be excited to dance with you all very soon but considering the many unknowns we are also planning virtual options should live events not be possible. The safety of our dance families is the most important thing to us and we will update you as soon as we have additional information.

Please note, at this time we are communicating all updates directly with the Dance Teachers and Studio Owners. To simplify communication, we ask that all parents and guardians direct their questions to their Dance Teachers for the very latest updates and information.

Take care,
Tremaine Dance Conventions

Dear Teachers, Studio Owners, Parents and Dancers,

These are difficult times for everyone. We are reminded how important your support and loyalty has been.  On behalf of the entire Tremaine Dance family we thank you and send our prayers and best wishes to you and your families. We are grateful to be a part of your dance journey and appreciate your trust in Tremaine.

As we all deal with the uncertainty of the COVID-19, Coronavirus, it is important to remember that we are all in this together. Our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of our extended dance families around the country and the world and hope that we are able to collectively slow the spread of the virus. We are doing our part by heeding the recommendations of state and federal officials including hand-washing, practicing social distancing, as well as abiding by the “safer at home” order and closure of non-essential businesses in our state.

As you are aware this crisis has forced us to postpone several of our events including the Boston, Tulsa, Winston-Salem and Los Angeles conventions. We have been looking at options to reschedule these events but due to the crisis everything is uncertain at this time. We remain hopeful that this situation will come to an end very soon, and in addition to working with our venues for rescheduled dates we are also preparing for a very exciting summer tour with lots of surprises at nationals. We will keep you posted as updates become available.

During this unprecedented time we are all faced with many unknown circumstances and sincerely appreciate how patient you have been as we sort through these challenges. We understand that you have questions and rightfully so. As we continue to wait for responses from our venues and further clarity on the government relief programs we apologize for the delay in communication. With that said, please watch for an email being sent to all those affected by the postponements that will provide important information related to your convention and competition entry fees.

Although our office is currently closed due to the “safer at home” order in effect in the state of California, all staff are working from home and may be reached via their respective email addresses or at

We know that the uncertainty of this situation is very stressful but we want you to know that, as always, we are here for you and hope we can still be a resource for you during these difficult times. We look forward to dancing with you again soon.

Kind regards,
Tremaine Dance Conventions
