GENERAL INFORMATION:

ALWAYS PRE-REGISTER – On Site Registration is NEVER GUARANTEED

• If you Pre-Registered with your studio, pick up your Wristband from your Teacher

Wristbands Required for entrance to Teaching Ballrooms

Children under 3 years of age Not Admitted into Ballrooms during dance classes for any reason – without exception.
Luggage and Large Items Not Allowed in Ballrooms.
All Dance Bags, Ice Chests, etc., must fit under hotel chairs in the teaching rooms in compliance with Fire Marshall regulations.
• All chairs in ballrooms must remain against the walls.
Outside Chairs Not Allowed in ballrooms or convention areas.

HOTEL ETIQUETTE:

• Hotels are Public Areas
• Observe Safety Practices
• Travel in Pairs
• Wear appropriate Cover Ups
• No Tap Shoes outside of Ballroom Area

WRISTBANDS:

• Attach to either wrist
• Not to be removed for the duration of the Convention/Competition.
• Must be worn for Ballroom Entry.
• Lost or removed Wristbands require Full Repayment of Registration Fees.
• No Refunds.
• No Exceptions.

PAID OBSERVERS:

ALWAYS PRE-REGISTER – On Site Registration is NEVER GUARANTEED

Parents or Non-Dancers ONLY, attending with registered students in the Junior, Teen or Senior Ballrooms, may register as observers.
Cannot be – Dancers, Teachers, Studio Owners, Managers or Children under 3 years of age. (No exceptions).
Wristbands will allow you to observe in the Student Ballrooms.
• One Day Wristbands only allow you into Classes the day of purchase.

COMPETITION:

• Possibility of Competition on Night Before Convention. 2 weeks notice if so.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC – FREE – No Ticket Necessary.
LINE UP IS POSTED in the ballroom area the night before competition.
NEW! PROGRAMS available for purchase at Tremaine Booth (limited qty.)
Showroom Opens 30 minutes prior to Competition Start Time.
• Competitor Orientation 30 minutes prior to Start Time in Ladies Dressing Room.
General Seating with a raised stage.
The first Two Rows Reserved for Teachers with Competition Entries Only.
Average 20 competition numbers per hour, plus Awards.
*Please see line up to approximate when your numbers will go on stage.

PARENTS FORUM WITH JOE TREMAINE (most cities):

• For Parents of Dancers only (no Wristband required).
• Joe Tremaine discusses your child’s dance education.
No Admittance to – Children, Teachers, Studio Owners, Studio Managers, Studio Staff nor their Spouses. No Exceptions!
Attend and participate in a drawing for a CHANCE to win a FREE TUITION FOR YOUR DANCER.

AUDITIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS:

33 SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded by Tremaine in each city*:

1 Freestyle Face-Off Scholarship
(Teen or Sr.) *Occurs in WINTER CITIES ONLY.
– 1 free National Convention for that season
*Winner chosen by Faculty Show Audience from Finalists

18 Convention Scholarships
(6 each- Jr., Teen & Sr.)
– 1 Tuition Free Convention valid for 1 year

10 Yearlong Convention Scholarships (2 each- Jr., 4 each – Teen & Sr.)
– Tuition Free Conventions for 1 year

4 EDGE Performing Arts Center Scholarships (2 each – Teen: min age 12, 2 each Sr.)
– 10 Class Card for the EDGE in Hollywood, CA, valid for 1 year

• Eligibility – All Full-Convention Paid Jr., Teen, Sr. & Asst. Teacher Registrants may audition.
• Dancers eligible to receive each available scholarship ONLY ONCE in each Age Division.

AGE DIVISIONS: Jr 6-10, Teen 11-13, Sr 14 & Up *No Age Exceptions
NOTE: Auditions are by AGE divisions, NOT Wristband colors. Dancers could, based on their age, audition in a ballroom different than their actual classroom.

• Only Auditioning Dancers are allowed in the audition. Dancers not auditioning must vacate the room.

NO SIGN-UP LIST. NO FEE. NO AUDITION NUMBERS.
Only Auditioning Dancers, Teachers & (or and) Assistant Teachers are allowed in the audition.

• Observers Not Allowed in Auditions.
• Be in appropriate ballroom for the audition prior to the start time.

AUDITIONS START PROMPTLY

– Only Teachers may enter after the doors close
– NO EXCEPTIONS FOR ANY REASON

EXITING THE AUDITION FOR ANY REASON – No Re-Entry into the Ballroom until the audition is over.
Announcement of Winners – Winners announced at the Faculty Show
*DANCERS MUST BE PRESENT AT FACULTY SHOW TO WIN SCHOLARSHIP

FACULTY SHOW:

Scholarship Winners & Shining Star Etiquette Award Announced
*PLUS* Performances by the Tremaine Faculty, Performance Company and the Tremaine Dancers of the Year.
Free to the Public. Guests without Wristbands will form a line at the “Faculty Show Line” sign outside showroom.
All Students, Classrooms and People with Wristbands will be merged into showroom First, then the outside line will be brought in.
GENERAL SEATING ON THE FLOOR
ALL CHAIRS must remain AGAINST THE WALLS for safety of all guests.
NOTICE TO PARENTS & TEACHERS: Dancers will not exit their ballroom unless you inform them to meet you elsewhere. Please make those arrangements at lunch on the last day of the convention.
DO NOT MEET in or at CLASSROOM DOORWAYS. This congestion could cause a safety hazard to your dancers inside the room.
Faculty Show and Convention conclude by approx. 3:00 p.m.

Tremaine Dance Conventions, Inc. Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or to remove anyone who is disruptive, unruly or displays rude, unacceptable behavior – to be determined at Director’s sole discretion.

NO CAMERA EQUIPMENT – NO SELFIE STICKS, NO TRIPODS, NO MONOPODS, ETC.
